Gin and Tonics are one of those drinks that fill me with nostalgia. Recently, I was perusing my local grocery store when I came upon Fever Tree tonic. It uses real sugar, not high fructose corn syrup, so I was instantly sold. The flavor is intensely different from the usual tonics I've used - it's so much more subtle, with a lingering sweetness that is not sticky or syrup-y at all. I knew this new tonic called for a hint of cucumber.Of course, there's no clear recipe for a gin and tonic, but this one requires only one extra step. First, thinly slice some cucumber and rub one slice on the inside of your glass. Then, add your gin and more cucumber slices. If possible, let this sit for a few minutes. Add your ice, top with tonic, and give a good squeeze of lime. Mix and sip. Ahhhhhhh.Happy Friday everyone!
